Being a soul himself, he could attack the soul directly of the homies and injure them that way, the theory here is you can only hurt the body by hurting the soul first. So why would oda make that happens, the best reason I could come with is brooke's devil fruit. Now this is imo not a brook hype feat because brook is nowhere near top tier, there's no way oda is saying that brook is stronger than the top tier. I've been sitting for a while now thinking about all of that and I think everything is starting to make sense. By having that happens, oda is basically saying, even if you injure part of big mom's soul, nothing happens to her. On one hand we could argue that the reason why big mom gets weakens from the picture getting damaged is because her soul is in it but when the sun homie got inured, it did nothing to big mom. Mother caramel is smiling brightly, this means the picture is not always smiling? Does it mean the picture is alive? Is it a homie, would big mom give the soul of a random person to the picture of mother caramel.
